北京国际设计周(以下简称“设计周”)于 2009 年首次举办,至今已成功举办十六届。设计周在各级政府和设计界的支持下,从首都重要的年度国际性文化活动逐步发展定位成为国家推进创意设计与相关产业融合发展的重要平台,北京建设全国文化中心、科技创新中心、国际交往中心的重要抓手,以及服务新时代首都高质量发展、构建高精尖产业结构、深化文化与科技融合的重要引擎。

十六届以来,设计周在城市更新与乡村振兴、文旅与文创、科技创新与消费创新等诸多方面,利用活动搭建平台,整合了高校、设计机构、科研院所资源,将最新创意设计成果在京津冀多个场所以及海外如米兰、巴黎等国际城市集中展示。展览展示期间,同期举办论坛、商务洽谈会、工作坊、创意市集等活动,将设计、艺术、科技资源与企业对接,带动了设计与产业的结合,也在很大程度上促进了时尚消费的发展。同时,设计周通过组织各种形式的创意设计大赛,采用企业出题、设计师揭榜的方式,征集了大量用之于生产生活的设计成果,实现区域定向资源对接,充分发挥了设计作为新质生产力的引领作用。

Beijing Design Week (hereinafter re- ferred to as “Design Week”) was first held in 2009 and has been successfully staged for 16 editions. With the support of governments at all levels and the design community, Design Week has evolved from a major annual interna- tional cultural event in the capital into a crucial national platform for advancing the integration of creative design and related industries. It serves as a key in- strument for Beijing to build itself into a national center for culture, sci-tech in- novation and international exchanges, and a vital engine driving the capital’s high-quality development in the new era, fostering a sophisticated and ad- vanced industrial structure, and deep- ening the integration of culture and technology.

Over the past 16 editions, Design Week has leveraged its platform to integrate resources from universities, design institutions and research institutes in areas including urban renewal, rural revitalization, cultural tourism, cre-ative industries, technological inno- vation and consumption innovation. It has presented the latest creative de-sign achievements at multiple venues across the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and in international cities such as Milan and Paris. During the exhibition period, forums, business matchmaking events, workshops and creative markets are held concurrently, connecting design, art and technological resources with enterprises, promoting the integration of design and industry, and significantly boosting the development of fashion consumption. Meanwhile, through vari- ous creative design competitions under the model of“enterprise proposition, designer response”, Design Week has collected a large number of design out- comes applied to production and daily life, realized targeted regional resource matching, and given full play to the leading role of design as a new quality productive force.

Beijing Design Week Co., Ltd. is a creative design platform company approved by the Publicity Department of CPC Beijing Municipal Committee. Commissioned by Beijing Design Week Organizing Committee, the company is responsible for operation and brand management, as well as investment management of Beijing Design Week.

Adhering to the tenet of openness, innovation and sharing, Beijing Design Week invites domestic and international design communities to work together, jointly maintain the design week brand, promote the innovation of design ideas, and promote the integration and development of design and related industries.

Beijing Design Week Co, Ltd. is dedicated to building the annual design week as a public service platform for the design industry. The design resources and achievements collected during the design week will be effectively converted and form an industrial chain of design originality, demonstration and transaction. Through directing design resources to sustainable development of urban and rural areas, upgrade of manufacturing industry, transformation of cultural and creative industries, protection and utilization of cultural heritage and optimization of living conditions, it achieves “Design for Public Life” design mission.
