Farewell to Giampaolo Talani, the Tuscan painter and sculptor who receveid the “Lorenzo il Magnifico” for Lifetime Achievement Award 2015 for visual arts.On the occasion of the X Florence Biennale was set up a personal retrospective exhibition.Giampaolo Talani has renewed the cultural heritage of the Florentine Renaissance with his experimentation in ancient techniques such as frescoes within the contemporary art scene, showing his vocation for an ideal dialogue with the community of the polis.

The artist has exhibited all over the world, from New York to Washington, passing through Paris and Berlin, with his unforgettable sculptures and paintings. In 2011 he had participated in the 54th Venice Biennale and recently, for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, was commissioned to Talani a bronze bust of Garibaldi, placed in two copies at the Quirinale and Palazzo Madama in Rome. In Florence, Talani is the author of Departures, a fresco at the station of Santa Maria Novella, and of the female statue Fiorenza, which he donated for the district of San Jacopino.
