Designers are decreeing now is the age of everything conversational. Messaging apps are taking over the world and ruling the app store rankings while it seems like every product or service has some form of chat built in. It’s becoming common place to talk to your phone, car or home to get something done for you.

While it’s true that technology has evolved and platforms advanced to to open up new possibilities and design patterns, a conversation is still a conversation that’s fundamentally been a part of human existence and interaction.

In this session of Designing Products, we’ll have a diversity of panelists with wisdom from the past, experts that bridge the past and present and have seen the evolution over many platform shifts, fresh designers making their mark today and those who are defining the next phase of conversational UI.

Tina Chen, Product Design Manager, Slack
Tina Chen is a product design manager at Slack, currently focused on building the app and integrations platform. Previously, she was a product designer at Medium and has also worked on social and advertising products at Google. She studied Symbolic Systems at Stanford and has always been interested in how people behave and how design can make all our lives a little better.

Sherzod Max, Product Design, Operator
Sherzod is San Francisco based Product designer with background designing healthcare, ecommerce, messaging and social products. Currently focusing on improving conversational commerce at Operator.

Kim Ruelo, Sr Product Designer, Hipmunk
Focused on improving the way we book flights. Previously worked on a conversational commerce petcare app, called Treat. Designed at Trunk Club, helping scale the business with service-based consumer products.

Junhan Ang, Product Design Lead, Zendesk
Product design lead at Zendesk, focusing on the Support product. Recent transplant to San Francisco, previously working on the Zendesk Chat and Message products in Singapore.
