There’s so much to see and do at Clerkenwell Design Week, you might need more than a day to fit it all in. Here’s our handy guide to navigating the Exhibitions Trail (exhibitions and installations) but make sure to check out the 90+ Showrooms taking part too.

Be prepared – register and print your badge in advance. There are so many venues its quicker to have a print out of your badge at the ready. You can visit one our onsite info points to pick up a lanyard and a printed guide/map (or register if you haven’t already). Check the map here and filter by Registration Points.

If you don’t feel like walking you can pick up a Twizy shuttle courtesy of headline sponsor Renault at: Charterhouse Street EC1M 6HJ, St John’s Square EC1V 4JJ and Northampton Road EC1R 0DF.

Look out for Spaceagency’s Out of the Box wayfinding scheme which uses the concept of an unfolding packing box that wraps around corners and flattens onto the city streets, pointing toward the directions of the various Clerkenwell Design Week venues. They’ve collaborated with URW++ incorporating the Serifa and Form typefaces which is perfect for guiding visitors between different venues and local transport stops.

If you’re arriving at Farringdon station:

1. Starting at Icon House of Culture sponsored by Bang & Olufsen at Fabric night club, the Victorian building opens its doors to a number of international design companies (Venue address: Fabric Nightclub, 77A Charterhouse Street, EC1M 6HJ. Opening hours: 10:00-21:00 every day during CDW)

2. Head up St John’s Lane to reach Order by Aldworth James & Bond with Corian at the Arch of St John (Venue address: St John’s Gate, EC1M 4DA)

3. Through the arch you will find Additions outside Craft Central. Showcasing beautiful small pieces perfect for the home, this is the first time that Additions has been in this location. (Venue address: St John’s Square, EC1M 4DS. Opening hours: 10:00-21:00 every day during CDW)

4. Across Clerkenwell Road, St John’s Square will be home to The Bolt: A Celebration of Craft, by Shinola and Giles Miller (pictured above). (Address: St John’s Square EC1V 4JJ)

5. Detail, inside The Priory Church of the Order of St. John Church reflects principles of fine craftsmanship and high glamour, showcasing the best and most prestigious names in the luxury interiors world (Venue address: The Order of St John, St John’s Square, EC1V 4JJ. 6. Continuing North, through Jerusalem Passage is St James’ Church where you will find British Collection in the crypt. Debuting last year, British Collection will showcase the best of British furniture, lighting and product design. (Venue address: Crypt on the Green, Clerkenwell Close, EC1R 0EA. Opening hours: 10:00-21:00 every day during CDW)

7. Project can be found in the Garden of St James’ Church. Spanning over two structures, Project hosts 20 leading manufacturers presenting furniture, lighting and contemporary product design. Also in the Garden of St James’ Church, Scale Rule present the Next Generation Design Pavilion (Venue address: Garden of St James, St James Walk, EC1R 0EA. Opening hours: 10:00-21:00 every day during CDW)

8. North of the church, via Sans walk, Platform will display a carefully curated collection of emerging and cutting edge design at the iconic subterranean prison that is the House of Detention (Venue address: House of Detention, 12 Sans Walk, EC1R 0AS. Opening hours: 10:00-21:00 every day during CDW)

9. Turn the corner north into Clerkenwell Close, where you can walk through Double Vision By Hakwood (Address: Clerkenwell Close, EC1R OEA)

10. Once through the close, heading up Northampton Road, Armitage Shanks will present artwork from project Fountain 17 along the side of the Finsbury Business Centre (Address: 40 Bowling Green Ln, Clerkenwell, London EC1R 0NE)

11. At the end of Northampton Road you will reach the final destination: Design Fields. The first installation is The Beacon supported by Perspex® Brand. Visitors will be able to climb up the internal staircase to a viewing platform. (Address: Spa Fields, Northampton Road, EC1R 0DF)

12. Also in Design Fields you will find the festival’s largest exhibition space – a showcase of leading international brands. Alongside this, look out for The Playbox, designed by Shape London and Fraher Architects and BuzziJungle by BuzziSpace. Lastly Conversations at Clerkenwell sponsored by eporta will be staged in a specially designed talks space located within Design Fields (Venue address: Spa Fields, Northampton Road, EC1R 0DF)

13. Karndean Designflooring are working with British artist Sally Hogarth to produce a series of installations, Kaleidoscope, along the exhibitions trail.
