这一刻，太阳已经从中国东部的海面上升起，新的一天、新的一年，如约而至。

来自北京国际设计周的新年祝福，也如同每年一样，随着太阳的脚步，从此刻开始一个时区一个时区自东向西传递给全球的朋友们，祝每一位设计周大家庭的朋友新年好！

从此刻回望1200多年前的一个春夜，33岁意气风发的李白桃园雅集，诗酒年华，似醉非醉之际一挥而就：“夫天地者，万物之逆旅；光阴者，百代之过客。”。盛唐的夜晚在诗歌、音乐、美酒、香药中沉醉而短暂，蜡炬成灰，东方既白，桃花怒放。

从此刻眺望1200多年后的一个中秋之夜，第60代移居火星的人类聚集在登陆厅巨大的玻璃幕墙前，太空中的天文望远镜传来的影像投射在稀薄的人造大气层上：一轮蔚蓝色的地球从赤红粗糙的地平线冉冉升起。密集的人群在这一刻突然静默，只能听到正在授粉的蜜蜂无人机翅膀扇动的声音，由颐和园桶桂扦插移植而来的丹桂已经长成千年巨树，浓郁的花香如同乡愁般难以化解。

我们再从李白桃园夜宴的时刻回望1200多年，函谷关，满头白发的李耳凝神写下一行字：“万物并作，吾以观复。”春秋时代的夜晚寂静而漫长，古驿站，油灯如豆且飘摇，映射着竹简上墨迹未干的这八个字如水般流转。驿外溪桥边，老梅夜放，暗香浮动。

这些瞬间本来只是无尽岁月中极为普通的一个刻度，因为有了人类能够共情的感悟而被我们所记忆或者盼望，成为具体而微的历史颗粒，构筑起我们的文化人格。在AI学会感悟之前，我们还有机会。

2024年北京国际设计周的主题将会是“设计共情”，我们希望和关心、支持、参与设计周的朋友们一起，用设计和真诚在发展中解决更多的问题。

Happy New Year from 

Beijing Design Week！

At this moment, the sun has risen from the sea in eastern China, and a new day and a new year have arrived as scheduled.

The New Year's greetings from Beijing Design Week, like every year, will be delivered to friends around the world from east to west, one time zone at a time, as the sun rises. Wishing everyone in the Design Week family a happy New Year!

Looking back on a spring night more than 1,200 years ago, Li Bai, a 33-year-old with high aspirations, held an elegant gathering in the Taoyuan Garden. In the era of prosperity, the night was intoxicated with poetry, music, wine, and fragrant medicine. Li Bai wrote the following poem in a state of semi-drunkenness: "The universe is a temporary shelter for all things; time is a passing guest of the ages." The night of the Tang Dynasty was short-lived and intoxicated with poetry, music, wine, and fragrant medicine. The candles turned to ashes, the east was white, and the peach blossoms were in full bloom.

Looking ahead to a Mid-Autumn night more than 1,200 years later, the 60th generation of humans who have migrated to Mars gather in front of the huge glass curtain wall of the landing hall, and the images transmitted by astronomical telescopes in space are projected onto the thin artificial atmosphere: a round of blue Earth rising from the red rough horizon.

These moments were originally just an extremely ordinary scale in the endless years, but because of the empathy of human beings, they are remembered or looked forward to, becoming concrete and micro historical particles that build our cultural personality. Before AI learns to empathize, we still have a chance.

The theme of the 2024 Beijing Design Week will be "Design Empathy". We hope to work with friends who care about, support, and participate in the Design Week to solve more problems in development through design and sincerity.
